Hydrangea macrophylla Blauer Zwerg

Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Blauer Zwerg’ is very floriferous and one of the best blue mopheads, – feed with aluminium sulphate. A good upright form.

Inflorescence: Mophead, 180mm across. The inflorescences are not overly large, so the stems are strong enough to hold them upright without staking.


synonyms: H. m. ‘Clara’, ‘Lavblaa’, ‘Lavbla’, ‘Lavblau’, ‘Blau Haller’.

‘Blauer Zwerg’ translates to ‘Blue Dwarf’.
Bred by August Steiniger, Germany, in 1965.
