Hydrangea macrophylla 'Cardinal Red'

Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Cardinal Red’ is a medium-sized shrub, up to 1.5m, with red mophead flowers. On neutral soils, the flower colour is a strong bright red, but on our more acidic soils the red turns to a bright mauve. Whatever your soil type, this compact shrub is very floriferous and gives a magnificent display of colour until mid-September.

Inflorescence: Mophead, 200mm across. Retains blue ‘eye’ regardless of sepal colour.
