Hydrangea macrophylla 'Sekka Yae'


Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Sekka Yae’ is a moderately growing shrub with irregular corymbs. The colour of the flowerheads, if grown in acidic soil, is very attractive indeed.

Inflorescence: Lacecap, 210mm diam. The brilliant blue flowers are quite dramatic against a darker background.

Introduced from Japan by the Domoto brothers of Domoto Nursery, Northern California, in 1913.

Synonyms: H. m. ‘Domotoi’, H. m. ‘Taika Yae’ H. m. ‘Setsuka Yae’
